Richard “Richie” J. Leonard, 75 of Brockton, passed away December 11, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness. Born on February 13, 1941 in Boston to the late James and Mary (Donovan) Leonard. Beloved companion of Lillian (Johansen) Leonard Meserve. Loving father of Michelle and Tom Constantine of Whitman, and Greg Leonard and Melissa Goodwin of Brockton. Richards’s grandchildren Tom Constantine of Whitman, Dylan Leonard of W. Bridgewater and Riley Leonard of Brockton were is entire world. Brother of Paul, of Norton, Kevin and his wife Ann of Stoughton, Eileen Bushey of Easton, and the late James Leonard. Richard is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1959 were he played football and was on the track team. He served in the Army National Guard from 1959-1962. After attending RETS Electronics, he was employed as a test technician for Raytheon for many years until he retirement. Richard enjoyed coaching Brockton Midget Football (south side) for many years. In addition to being an avid New England and New York sports fan, he also enjoyed collecting sports cards, history and listening to music from the 50’s. Most of all, Richard loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Wednesday Dec. 14 th 5-7 pm.

A Memorial Service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard’s memory to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
