Lawrence H. Kenneally of Bridgewater, died August 7, 2013 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 82. Lawrence was the former husband and dear friend of the late Judyth (Winn) Kenneally. Born in Whitman on March 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Michael Kenneally and Florence (Damon) Kenneally. He played baseball and basketball in high school and was an avid bowler and was on many leagues throughout his life. Lawrence proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for BAMSI with handicapped adults for many years and had a successful landscaping business in his later years. Lawrence was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Red Sox and Bruins games as well as college football. Lawrence is lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, who he cherished spending time with.
He is survived by his son, Martin and his wife Kelly of Bridgewater and his four daughters, Laurie Kenneally and her partner Jackie of Mashpee, Maureen Goodell and her fiancé Robert Hayes of Raynham, Brenda Leary and her husband Michael of Taunton and Erin Hayward and her husband Stephen of Bridgewater. He was the loving grandfather of William, Ryan, Matthew, Katherine, Molly and Isabella and the great grandfather of Landon. He was also the brother of Ann Carver and her husband James of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Grace Ludwig and Robert Kenneally of Whitman and is survived by a niece and several nephews. He is also survived by his very dear friend Virginia Nye of Whitman and his friend and former son in law William Goodell of Brockton. He is predeceased by his beloved dog Bob.
Visitation will be on Wednesday Aug. 14 th 3-6 at MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington Street, Whitman, followed by a brief ceremony. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph or the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Mass., 1300 West Elm Street Ext., Brockton.
