George Goodwin

George Arthur Goodwin of Lakeville April 1, 2015 entered into rest peacefully and pain-free at home, after a long battle with liver cancer. George and his family would like to thank Steward Home Care Hospice nurses and staff for the support and care they provided to help keep George comfortable during his illness.
He is survived by his wife Karen L. Goodwin, and their son Jesse L. Goodwin of Lakeville; his daughter Melissa A. Goodwin and her fiancé Greg Leonard of Brockton, his granddaughter Riley Leonard of Brockton, his loving niece Christine Azevedo of Easton, and his special friends Pat and Kathy Curneen of Lakeville. Also survived by his brother William “Archie” Goodwin, sister Donna Azevedo of Brockton, foster-sister Laura Hagerty Fitzgerald and foster-brother Robert “Bobby” Hagerty. Pre-deceased in life by his dearly missed foster-father Daniel Hagerty of Randolph, MA, and his brother Robert “Bobby” Goodwin.
George enjoyed spending quality time with his son and granddaughter. He liked to write music, poetry and memoirs as well as play guitar. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Lakeville Council on Aging Creative Writing Group.
A Memorial Service will be on Friday April 10th from 6-7 pm. at the Lakeville Church of the Nazarine, 180 Main St., Lakeville, MA. Casual dress, no suits and ties.
