Barbara Klatt

March 10, 1923 — March 21, 2014

Barbara Bullock Klatt, 91, Swansea artist, died peacefully on March 21, 2014 at the Fall River Jewish Home. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Richmond B. and Claire (Bryer) Bullock.  She graduated from the Lincoln School in Providence and attended Rhode Island School of Design. Barbara was an accomplished artist, painting in oils and also proficient in toleware painting.  She belonged to the Westport Art Group, Bristol Art Museum, Greater Fall River Art Assoc., Attleboro Arts Museum and the Fall River Camera Club.

She is known for her love of art and nature – often painting local scenes of Southeastern New England. A direct descendent of Roger Williams, she had a strong interest in history, tracing her family back to the Mayflower. With a deep faith, she enjoyed bible study and was a member of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research.

Barbara was formerly married to the late Charles Klatt, Jr. They started their family in Barrington, RI – later moving to Swansea, MA in 1960.   Barbara leaves three daughters, Karen Boulanger Folkes of East Providence, RI and her husband, Richard, Charlene Butler of West Greenwich, RI and her husband, Robert and Cyndra Moniz of Exeter, RI and her companion, Douglas Chatman; two sons, Kenneth Klatt of New Bedford, MA and his wife, Geraldine, Christopher Klatt of Niwot, Colorado and his wife Sandi. She leaves eleven grandchildren, Ernest Alan Boulanger, David Boulanger, Lori Bellevance, Kim Williams, Gregory Vidal, Jeffrey Vidal, Timothy Klatt, Kevin Klatt, Erin (Moniz) Caughorn, Frances Klatt and Rebecca Klatt; and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was also the mother of the late Kristine Vidal and the grandmother of the late Brendan Moniz.

A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 27th at the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 GAR Highway, Swansea, MA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to MADD, RI or the Lincoln School would be greatly appreciated.
